Andrew is an accredited Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. He is registered with the Health Professions Council and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, as well as being a full member of The British Association of Art Therapists, The Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association and The College of Psychoanalysts. He has Masters Degrees in both Applications of Psychology and Psychodynamic Practice, this last from Oxford University. Attachment theory represents a particular interest and Andrew has undertaken research in this area. He has been trained in the use of the Attachment Style Interview (ASI) developed by Professor Bifulco, and EMDR (recommended by NICE as the treatment of choice for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
The Bar Council has recognised the prevalence of anxiety, stress and depression amongst its members. Many would argue that the particular constellation of factors that exist within this high pressure environment actively contribute to, or exacerbate, mental health difficulties. Andrew’s practice represents a safe haven of absolute discretion in which issues relating to mental health and wellbeing can be explored and made sense of- in confidence.
Andrew has been a qualified and registered therapist for over 25 years. He adheres to the UKCP code of ethics.
